PAST: So far this year we've completed a Bread study, celebrated Easter, completed our joint VBS 2008 with Oakwood UMC, and had a month long Beach Party for worship!

As you explore churches I’m glad that your children’s needs are as important to you as your own. Children are an essential part of our life at DKUMC. Please look at our mission statement page to find out what we believe and how we live that our with our children regularly. You can find current activities under Our Schedule and the Director's Corner. Also don't miss this list of Annual Activities with event photos and information from past events.
As you continue to explore churches feel free to call or e-mail me with questions, concerns, or for more information. I encourage you to also look into the general teachings of the denominations you explore. As a United Methodist Congregation we believe in an individual study of Scripture, hands on social justice ministries, and an inter-connected body of Christ. Parents and Volunteers!
There is so much we can do, and it all begins by saying "yes" to children. On our website I hope you will find valuable tools for communicating the Bible message with children, taking home the message of the week, programming to enhance your child’s Christian education, and many other ways to get involved. It takes all of us to bring up our children in the way of Christ. Please consider volunteering for special events, to be a teacher, or keep us in prayer. The more you remain in touch with what the children learn at church, the better able you'll be to reinforce those messages at home. The regularly updated Director's Corner will help you stay curent. Also check out the resources provided by our Sunday School Curriculum including activities to do with your kids at home. Some useful resources on parenting and understanding your child are available (among other things) under Useful Websites!

I am so glad you decided to check us out! As Christians it’s important for us to keep learning about God, following God, and telling our friends about our loving God.
